About Our Company
Faradays was established in Cape Town in 1952 by Michael Hurwitz and then taken over in 1976 by his son Allan Hurwitz, who is still very much involved in the total operation of the business.

Over time Faradays has grown and now operates nationally with its main branches in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

The company operates in both electrical and Data/IT installation industries, offering a supply and install service, plus a full maintenance package when required.

Our staff are highly trained, qualified electricians who are kept informed of all the latest technologies and changes within the data cabling and electrical fields.

We are BEE compliant.

We have recently converted from a Close Corporation (CC) to a Private Company (PTY LTD) to include long term employees onto the board of directors and senior management and at the same time to continuously improve on our BEE status.
Company Objectives
Faradays Electrical’s objectives are to offer our clients a professional and technically sound installation with a complete after sales service.

Our 24 hour, seven day a week operation provides a quick response to system failure and breakdowns.

It is our commitment to minimize disruption to our clients operations and therefore get the systems up and running within the shortest time possible.
Health and Safety
Faradays Electrical is registered with the Electrical Contractors Association of South Africa (ECA) and the Department of Manpower as well as the Electrical Contracting Board.

We have a quality assurance policy and do regular inspections to ensure that all our installations comply with all the required regulations including the SANS 10142 code of practice for the wiring of premises (as amended) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act No 85 of 1993.
Staff Training
We are committed to an education and training program for our staff in which we utilize the training facilities provided for by the ECA combined with in-house training.

We are continuously sending our employees (mostly “previously disadvantaged”) on training courses with a view to advancement within the company and we are in the process of undertaking a special in-house workshop for the staff, with a view of encouraging an interest in management and administrative functions of a contracting and service based company i.e. senior/project management, costing and site control.
